DK gives us ODSG 1.5 produced solely by long time producer/friend/cousin LB as a lyrical gift and avenue to his much slept on talents as an artist. For years he's been trying to break his brand of Dallas Hip-Hop by being 100% real and not selling out to a certain crowd, but like most keeping-it-real artists and actual lyrical artists, particularly in Dallas, he's being ignored by the so-called "media outlets" and "promoters" in his home city. Tie that in with the struggles of being a college graduate with many bills to pay, frustrations of Baby Momma Drama and the feeling that no one really cares about what you're doing, what comes out is a angry, I-Don't-Give-A-Fuck DK the artist. You hear and feel his raw emotions on every track on this mixtape in result to his frustrations overall. He sounds hungry as an artist and coupled with the production of LB, his music sounds great on this one!
If you like Z-Ro, then you will like this mixtape! Oh and I appreciate the S/O's too DK! One Deep Steady Grinding is not only an mixtape, it's a lifestyle.

Propain - "Ridin' Slab" (Mixtape)

I've been off the blogging scene for a mean minute. Been promoting my "I Ain't Sh!t" album tough! But like I've stated before, I don't post anything that I don't like and it hasn't been anything worth posting lately. That's until I heard this new Ridin' Slab project from Houston's own Propain.

I had heard of Propain from shout outs sent from my nigga Le$ and I begin to hear more and more about him. This Ridin' Slab doesn't disappoint. He got very notable features on there like Rich Homie Quan, Kirko Bangz, Slim Thug, Lil Keke, Doughbeezy and one of the standout tracks with Z-Ro "All Day," in which Z-Ro disses Big Chief in part of his verse. My favorite tracks on here though are "Reverse" and "Father's Day" cuz I can relate to both so well. For one, being a Nas fan, I like how Propain did an rendition of "Rewind" from Nas' classic Stillmatic album and secondly, I feel the exact same way about my biological father. He even painted the scene and gave shine to my day job Maggiano's too. Lol!
